What Stress Response Are You In?

Our brain, specifically the Limbic system, is constantly surveying for trouble to keep us safe. In this episode, Dr. Skyler outlines three stress responses our limbic system uses -- fight, flight and freeze -- to protect us. However, if we get stuck in a chronic stress response, our immune system can be compromised, leading to inflammation, and fuel the disease process. Unfortunately, in today's world we have a multitude of ever-present external and internal stressors that can cause disease, specifically gastrointestinal and autoimmune conditions.
